Located west of Concordia this large deck girder bridge carries the BNSF line over Buffalo Creek.
Built in 1900, the bridge features three deck plate girder spans, set onto stone substructures. The substructures are built of handsome cut stone, and the girders are thin and lightweight.
This style of bridge is commonly used to cross creeks and roads, due to the ease of construction.
The bridge was rehabilitated in 2019, including a new deck and walkways.
Overall, the bridge remains in good condition. In addition, several vintage scrap automobiles are underneath the bridge.
The author has ranked this bridge as being locally significant, due to the common design.
